Holders Newbridge will face Kilrea after the draws for the opening round of the Derry senior football championship were made last night in Owenbeg.

2023 winners Glen will play Banagher in their first-round tie while the standout fixture sees Slaughtneil and Magherafelt – each six-time winners of the John McLaughlin Cup – set to battle it out.

The first-round games are set to commence on August 28th

The Derry senior hurling championship draws see defending champions Slaughtneil up against Na Magha, with the competition scheduled to commence on August 15th.
