Former Cork camogie boss Paudie Murray is in the running to become the next Kerry hurling manager.

With Stephen Molumphy's successor set to be announced at next Tuesday night's county board meeting, the four-time All-Ireland camogie winning manager - who also managed the Cork minor hurlers two years ago - is understood to be one of four candidates for the role. Former Kerry captain John Griffin is the favourite, with two former Limerick hurlers, Mark Foley and Barry Hennessy, also in contention.

The position has been vacant since the end of May when former Waterford star Molumphy stepped down after three years in charge after being assigned to a new role at the EU military headquarters in Brussels for 12 months.
