Kerry star Paudie Clifford criticised the red card he received during Fossa’s All-Ireland club JFC final victory over Stewartstown Harps of Tyrone yesterday.

The Kerry champions emerged victorious on a 0-19 to 1-13 scoreline at Croke Park, where six players were sent off in total as the closing stages saw the decider turn into a fiery affair.

The Harps finished the game with just 11 players as Darren Devlin, Kyran Robinson, Gareth Devlin and Anton Coyle all saw red, while Clifford brothers Paudie and David, the later after a second yellow, were both dismissed as well.

Delivering his captain’s winning speech after lifting the trophy, Paudie commended the match officials on “a good job” before criticising the decision to send him off.

“To the referee and his officials, obviously a tough game to ref at the end. A good job other than at the end when I was wrongly sent off. [It's] just unbelievable how I was sent off.

“But a great job all round.”
