Fitzgerald and Cahill unveil first Waterford and Tipp selections

New Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald and his Tipperary counterpart Liam Cahill have unveiled their first selections ahead of tonight's Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League clash in Mallow.

Mark Fitzgerald, Micheal Harney, Calum Lyons, Shane McNulty, Neil Montgomery and DJ Foran are the six survivors from Waterford's last outing against Clare in last summer's Munster SHC round-robin series. Stephen Bennett, Austin Gleeson and Jamie Barron are named on the bench, while Paddy Leavey is the only player from county and provincial champions Ballygunner included in the starting line-up.

Meanwhile, erstwhile midfielder Michael Breen has been named at full back for Cahill's first game in charge of Tipp. Jason Forde starts at centre forward with Dan McCormack - who is better known as a midfielder or attacker - included at wing back.
