St Rynagh's bid for a four-in-a-row of Offaly SHC titles was sensationally ended by Shinrone in yesterday's quarter-final.
Jason Sampson found the net as the Tipperary-border club pulled off a shock 1-15 to 1-13 victory at St Brendan's Park. In other quarter-final at O'Connor Park on Saturday, Birr enjoyed a surprisingly comfortable win over Ballinamere. Luke Nolan, Lochlann Quinn and veteran substitute Sean Ryan scored the goals in a 3-17 to 0-11 win for Brendan Bugler's side.
In last evening's semi-final draw, Shinrone were paired with Belmont and Birr drew Kilcormac-Killoughey. Belmont and K-K had already qualified for the last-four as group winners.
Meanwhile, Clodiagh Gaels made an instant return to SHC 'B' after they were well beaten by Seir Kieran in Saturday's SHC relegation final.
