Paul Morris described the “unbelievable” after Ferns captured their first Wexford senior hurling championship title earlier today with victory over St Martin’s.
It finished 1-20 to 0-22 at Chadwicks Wexford Park, where this terrific solo goal from Patrick Breen just before half-time helped swing the final in the St Aidan’s club’s favour.
Speaking to TG4 afterwards, Model County star Morris – the sole survivor from Ferns’ last senior county final appearance in 2013 – said there was no feeling like his club’s success this afternoon.
“It's unbelievable, it's the best feeling in the world. It's a 'pinch me' moment to be honest,” he stated.
“Our club had never won a senior title. This is our third final, the last one we lost was in 2013.
“I said during the week that I thought then we would be in another few. It took until 2022 to get back to one.”
