Conor McKenna is expected to make his first AFL appearance of the season for Brisbane Lions this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury.
The injury, which the 2021 All-Ireland SFC winner sustained during a Lions practice match last month, forced him to miss Brisbane’s one-point season opener defeat to Carlton last Friday. However, last year’s Grand Final runners-up have declared McKenna fit for the upcoming trip to Perth to face Fremantle.
“The Irish-born defender trained strongly on Tuesday after returning to full training last week,” the club said.
McKenna committed his future to the Lions last September by signing a new two-year contract.
