There is expected to be no club action in Roscommon this weekend after it was reported that referees in the county have withdrawn their services.

The development comes after referee Kevin Naughton was assaulted during a minor football game between St Aidan’s and St Dominic’s in Ballyforan on Wednesday evening. The Clann na nGael match official has been released from hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The incident is being investigated by Roscommon GAA and the Gardaí.

Roscommon GAA are due to release a statement later today confirming that this weekend's senior, intermediate and junior football championship games are set to be called off.
