Tyrone are monitoring the fitness of experienced defender Peter Harte for their Ulster senior football championship clash against Fermanagh after he underwent appendix surgery last week.

The All-Ireland champions take on Fermanagh on April 16th in the northern province’s preliminary round and joint-manager Feargal Logan has confirmed that two-time All-Star Harte will need to be medically assessed before the Enniskillen clash.

"Peter is okay. We're going to have to see where he medically is on that, but he did have his appendix removed last week," Logan is quoted saying by BBC Sport NI.

Along with Harte, Mattie Donnelly is also a doubt for the Red Hands as he looks to recover from a hamstring problem but there is better news for Logan and fellow joint-boss Brian Dooher with midfielder Brian Kennedy and Michael O’Neill looking like returning to fitness for tomorrow week’s showdown at Brewster Park.
