Three goals in the closing 10 minutes of the first-half helped propel Galway to a 3-12 to 0-14 victory over Monaghan in Clones this afternoon.
Padraic Joyce’s side had trailed by 0-4 to 0-3 when Cathal Sweeney found the home side’s net from close range in the 27th minute.
From there, the Tribesmen would goal twice more via Rory Cunningham and Cein Darcy to take in a 3-4 to 0-7 lead at half-time and eight more points to their tally after the turnaround would be more than enough to record a crucial second win in their Allianz FL Division 1 campaign.
