Former Tyrone star Conor McKenna is set to make his Brisbane Lions debut at the weekend as the 2023 AFL season gets underway.

The Eglish clubman previously played with Essendon Bombers before retiring in 2020 and returning home to play a key role in Tyrone's fourth All-Ireland SFC success the following year.

McKenna has since returned Down Under and has been named to line-out in the Lions’ half-back line against Port Adelaide Power this Sunday.

Kilkenny man Darragh Joyce also joined the Lions ahead of the new AFL season and has been named in their emergency listings for Sunday’s opening round clash.
