The draw has taken place for the Down SFC semi-finals after in-form Clonduff eased past Mayobridge in the last of the quarter-finals last night.
The Saffrons have been pitted against Carryduff, with Burren and long-time champions Kilcoo meeting in the other semi-final. The IFC semi-final pairings are Longstone v Rostrevor and An Riocht v Annaclone.
Picking up from where they left off against Burren, Clonduff coasted to a 2-19 to 0-10 victory over neighbours Mayobridge at Páirc Esler. They had 11 points on the board before the 'Bridge opened their account in the 21st minute. Dan Rafferty's goal left it 1-12 to 0-4 at the break and there was no respite for the men in navy and sky blue after the restart when Padraig Wilson's late major sealed an emphatic Clonduff win.
Meanwhile, Kilcoo manager Martin Corey isn’t sure if captain Darryl Branagan and Shealan Johnston will return from injury for their last-four clash with Burren.
He told Belfast Live after his side’s emphatic 6-17 to 0-13 victory over Loughinisland on Sunday: “We don't know. That's the truth.
“One or two players don’t make a team - it’s all about the collective and we have players there chomping at the bit to get in and that’s the approach that we’ll take.”
