The GAA says it expects to earn around €4millon from its GAAGO streaming service this year.
Representatives from the association were before an Oireachtas Media Committee yesterday (Wednesday) alongside RTE Sport where they revealed the figure.
GAAGO has been frequently criticised during this year’s football and hurling championships as many feel that games should be broadcast free-to-air.
Speaking at yesterday’s committee meeting, GAA Director General Tom Ryan revealed that the highest profile matches shown on GAAGO, including two All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals, attracted between 100,000 and 120,000 steams with the lowest games, which were understood to be in the Tailteann Cup, attracting between 1,000 and 1,500 streams.
TweetTotal income from GAAGO for the year is €4m.

Tom Ryan says he doesn't know much the breakdown is from domestic and overseas subscribers - but says he believes domestic would be greater.
Be great to see the figures.
