Eight-time Dublin All-Ireland winning forward Kevin McManamon is currently in Japan working with the Team Ireland boxing squad at the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
34-year-old McManamon works as a sports psychologist and was brought into the IABA's high performance unit by director Bernard Dunne, who was previously involved in Dublin’s backroom team during Jim Gavin’s reign as manager.
Despite his work commitments at the Olympics, McManamon is still part of Dessie Farrell's Sam Maguire Cup seven in-a-row chasing Dublin squad.
The St Jude's clubman hasn't featured for the Dubs since the Leinster SFC final against Meath nine months ago while he is due to return to Ireland just days before a potential All-Ireland semi-final on August 14/15.
Best of luck @kevmc15 and all the Irish boxers ready to do the business pic.twitter.com/qRUuN5n31l
