The reigning All-Ireland football and hurling champions enjoyed mixed fortunes today as part of another hectic programme of league action.

Perennial Sam Maguire Cup winners Dublin travelled to Roscommon for their Division One South opener, while the invincibles of Limerick continued their defence of the national hurling league title with a tricky trip to Salthill to face Galway in Group B of Division One of the HL.

Elsewhere in football, neighbours Monaghan and Armagh faced off at Enniskillen in Division One North, while there was another derby at Navan where Meath and Westmeath collided in Division Two North.

With a total of 16 matches taking place across both codes, some of the other feature games in the hurling league included Waterford V Westmeath in Division 1A  and a couple of vital Division 1B encounters: Wexford's trip to Clare and Kilkenny against high-flying Antrim.
