Ethan Rafferty has returned to Armagh training after a long injury layoff.
The ‘sweeper keeper’ has been sidelined since breaking his ankle while playing outfield for his club Grange last July. Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney confirmed after last Saturday’s win over Cavan that Rafferty is “back running and kicking”, but conceded that he would have a battle on his hands to reclaim the number one jersey from the in-form Blaine Hughes.
It’s a nice headache for the management to have ahead of this Sunday’s last round Allianz Football League Division 2 clash with Cork and a League final against Donegal the following weekend.
