Tipperary’s Paddy McCormack displayed nerves of steel to sail over this equalising free with the clock winding down in extra time in last night’s Munster MHC final against Clare.
The scoreboard read 0-25 to 1-21 in the Banner lads’ favour when Darragh McCarthy earned a free for Tipp along the sideline which McCormack sailed over to force a penalty shoot-out at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
The Premier County would net three penalties while Clare missed all of theirs, sealing a 41st Munster minor hurling crown for Tipp.
