Imokilly produced the second-half goods to down holders Sarsfields by 1-23 to 0-17 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh and clinch their sixth Cork Premier senior hurling championship crown.
A sluggish start saw the east siders trailing by 0-11 to 0-5 at the halfway stage, with Daniel Hogan and Jack O’Connor among the scores for Sarsfields during the opening half hour.
The second-half would be a different story entirely though, as Bill Cooper set-up Adam Murphy for the game’s only goal three minutes into the restart and, from there, Jack Leahy (0-12) and co would keep the scoreboard ticking over.
In fact, the divisional side outscored their opponents by 0-12 to 0-1 from the 49th minute onwards to ensure their first Seán Óg Murphy Cup success since 2019.
