The semi-finals for Division 1 of the Allianz Hurling League have now been set following confirmation of this afternoon’s fifth round results.

Having trounced Antrim with a 4-28 to 2-16 win in Belfast, Tipperary are set to play Limerick in the last four of the competition. The All-Ireland champions were comfortable in a 2-20 to 0-15 at the TUS Gaelic Ground and will now meet their neighbours in the semis on the weekend of March 25/26.

Cork maintained their unbeaten record in the league thanks to a late point from Conor Cahalane which earned them a 2-18 to 2-18 draw against Clare in Ennis this afternoon.

The Rebels now face Kilkenny in the knock-out stages, with Derek Lyng’s charges having edged out Waterford by 0-18 to 0-16 on home turf for their fourth win in Division 1 Group B.

Elsewhere, Dublin recorded their second win of the campaign by seeing off Laois on a 1-29 to 0-20 scoreline at Parnell Park, where Donal Burke notched 0-10 for the winners, and Henry Shefflin’s Galway cruised to a 4-27 to 1-12 win over winless Westmeath. However, it came at a huge cost as 2017 All-Ireland winning captain David Burke suffered a cruciate ligament knee injury in the Mullingar clash that will see him miss the remainder of the season.

Westmeath and Laois are now set to battle out in the relegation playoff on the same weekend as the semi-finals.

The GAA has confirmed that dates/times/venues for the below games will be announced tomorrow (Monday).
