Clare ace Shane O’Donnell helped his club Éire Óg Ennis to a crucial win over defending champions Clonlara in the senior hurling championship yesterday.
In what was an airtight clash at Tulla, Éire Óg edged a 1-23 to 1-20 victory to move closer to the competition’s knock-out stages in pursuit of their club’s first Canon Hamilton Cup success since 1990.
This goal from two-time All-Ireland winner O’Donnell at the beginning of the second-half (watch it below) propelled the Ennis men in front as they won out by three in the end. Incidentally, O’Donnell would go off with a hamstring injury some 10 minutes after his goal.
