Killeshandra v Kildallan TBC. U15s Division 2 League Final The U15 Final took place on Thursday evening in P.K Duke park Stradone with a great crowd attendance. The game got underway and St. Joes opened the score line in the opening minutes thanks to a great ball from Jason Wood(8) to Oran Sheridan (13) who got the first point. Knockbride follow with a great run in from Mark Cassidy(8) who fisted over the bar for Knockbride’s first point. Both sides missing a few chances at points in the opening 10 minutes while the nerves settled but it was St.Joes who got the next point which came from great team work with Chevez Crotty(9) having a great run up the field to send it onto Ronan Mullally(10) who in turn let it into Charlie Madden(4) who took the point but Knockbride in the next 13 minutes really settled into the game and managed to score 1-06 Luke Carolan(9) point, Sean Ratcliffe(10) point Lorcan Reilly(13) getting 2 points from frees, Kyle McCabe(11) point and Jamie Shanley(6) getting a point and the goal. Luke Carolen(9) did take a shot at goal but a great save from Troy Hewitt(1) denied Knockbride another goal. St. Joseph's should have had a penalty but Barry Donnelly(11) was denied it and only given a free near half time he scored the point which shortly followed with another point from a bad kick out Barry Donnelly(11) getting it. Half time score St.Joseph’s 0-04(4) Knockbride 1-07(10). Second half got underway with one change on the St. Joseph's team Eanna Ward(16) on for Oran Sheridan(13). And St. Joes get of to a great start with Sam O’Connor(7) sending the ball into Ronan Mullally(10) who gets St.Joes 5th Point of the match. St. Joseph’s got a free in the 4th minute of the game Barry Donnelly(11) taking the free and getting the point. Knockbride responded with a point from Kyle McCabe(11). St. Joseph’s made another change Joe Finnegan(14) came on from Jason Wood(8). Knockbride in the 10th minute got their second Goal thanks to Sean Ratcliffe(10) finding the back of the net. St. Joes a few minutes later got the all important Goal to bring them back into the game thanks to a high ball in from Ronan Mullally(10) to Enna Ward(16) who ran the rest of the way in with 3 Knockbride’s after him but he wasn't going to miss the goal. Knockbride get another point thanks to Micheal Smith(5). St. Joseph’s received a Penalty Enna Ward(16) was pulled down Bally Donnelly(11) steps up to take it and didn’t missed St. Joes right back in the game 3 points divided them. Knockbride were awarded a free and get the point Sean Ratcliffe(10) taken it followed 2 minutes later with them getting another. Even McKeown(12) getting it. It really was a close game right up till the end it really could have gone either way. St. Joes managed to get 3 more points Ronan Mullally(10) getting one and Charlie Madden getting two points. It was a two point game and nearing full time but Knockbride weren't going to let St. Joes catch them and got another point thanks to Kyle McCabe(11). Full time whistle was blown and Knockbride win the Division 2 Final. Final score St. Joseph’s 2-09(15) Knockbride 2-12(18) a great display of football shown by both teams but only one team could win. Congratulations Knockbride and hard luck St. Joseph’s just not your time yet but Congratulation on reaching the final and I can say on behalf of the parents, supporters and Management we are very proud of each and everyone of yous for the way you all conduct yourselves and your true git and determination you all show as a team and look forward to watching you in the Championship. Little Leaguers and under 7 Academy Training is every Saturday morning from 10am to 11am in Killeshandra GAA grounds. Nursery Boys and Girls aged 4-5 U7 Academy Boys and Girls aged 6-7 U12 St. Joseph’s Girls Training for U12s are on Wednesday in Arva at 7pm and Saturday mornings in Killeshandra 12noon. A Culicage Climb A Culiage Climb (Ballavally Side) will take place on the 16th June in memory of Fr. Dan and Pat Dolan. Bus and guide is €20 (the bus is optional) all proceeds are in aid of Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care.
