Replying To cousinjohnjoe:  "how is position decided when teams are level on points, in div 1 crosserlough and killygarry level on points crosserlough have better score average but are in a relegation playoff, in div 3, drumlane, killeshandra and kildallan level on points for 2nd place drumlane have best score average and are placed 2nd, if its meant to be on head to head kildallan beat both of them and should 2nd, anyone know the the rules or do the lads still make it up as the go along."
Head to head when 2 teams involved. Scoring difference with 3 or more.

Division 3 will be a playoff though, as games were conceded by opposition so scoring difference cannot be used.

as i suspected the suits in breffni make it up as the go along pulling 2 names out of a hat to decide league positions after teams slogging it out for a few months, a league should be based on points firstly,if level on points score average, if level again then on most scored unlikely the are still going to be level after this, if liverpool and man u finished level on points to qualify for last champions league place dont think the would take it lightly if the were told were going to pull a name out of a hat to see which goes through, corlough and maghera were the only 2 teams to concede against any of the three that are level on points conceding to both killdallan and killeshandra all the needed was to remove drumlanes score against maghera and corlough which leaves killdallan second on score average, killeshandra should be playing drumlane with winner playing killdallan for 2nd spot not kildallan v killeshandra in 1st playoff as is the case following last nights shambles.

Folks, all clubs were given a document prior to the league starting which clearly outlined the position that in the event of 2 clubs ending on the same number of points that the head to head would decide. It also stated that if 3 or more then score difference would be the deciding factor. It didn't go fully down to the point where if level on points and level on score difference but you can't cover everything. While I dont always agree with the "suits" they were clear on this from the start. This document is/was emailed to all club secretaries in advance of the competition - and there will be a further document before the championship detailing the rules and regs.
It would help clarity for these documents to be published on the Cavan GAA website so that everyone can see but as someone involved in the admin of a team I get these from the Club secretary

What ramble are you on about talking about soccer teams. The league rules were issued to all club secretaries and voted in prior to the league starting. As usual people only start asking questions when it doesn't suit them.
If some of the keyboard warriors actually took on an executive role in the club rather than give out about it I'd be amazed.
