Seniors
Our seniors played visitors Ballinagh on Saturday evening in the 8th round of the league. Gowna having beaten Ballyhaise the previous week were hoping for another good result. Mark McKeever scored a point, twenty seconds into the game, when he received a ball from Ciaran Fitzpatrick. One minute later Ballinagh's, Paul Galligan done likewise
scoring a fine point two yards from the end line. In the 8th minute McKeever was going for goal but was taken down in the square. Ciaran Fitzpatrick stepped up to take the penalty, but goalkeeper Daragh McCarthy deflected the ball over the bar. Two minutes later Ballinagh also got a penalty. Colin Gumley stepped up to the mark but was denied by a super save by Stephen Leddy. Ballinagh scored two more points in a row until Conor Madden scored a point from a 20 yard free. Ballinagh was putting on a lot of pressure. This was evident when they scored three points in a row, all from frees. Mark McKeever brought the game to half time scoring a fantastic point from 30yards out. Half time score Gowna 0:05 Ballinagh 0:06
Conor Madden got the second off to a start scoring a point two yards from the Ballinagh end line. Two minutes later Damien Halton pointed a 25yard free. Ballinagh introduced Anthony Gaynor to the game in the 5th minute. Ballinagh scored two more points from frees. Gowna decided to make changes: David Phillips was brought on for Ronan Bannon, TJ Fitz for Ciaran Donohoe. Ballinagh done likewise also brought on two subs: Padraig Reilly and Daryl Gaynor. Free taker Conor Madden scored a 25yard free in the beginning of the last quarter. Ballinagh's Kevin Smith also scored a point 2 minutes later. Gowna scored two more points, one from Mark McKeever and the other from a free taken by Conor Madden. Ballinagh's Kevin Smith brought the game to a draw in the 27th minute. The game was looking like it was going to finish up in a draw until Paul Galligan slipped through the Gowna defense and scored a point. Three minutes later, unmarked Anthony Gaynor scored an easy goal standing at the edge of the square. Final score Ballinagh 1:11 Gowna 0:10

Our juniors also suffered a defeat by Ballinagh.

Girls u14 final
Our u14 girls are playing Killygarry on Tuesday evening next, 15th may, @7.30, in the division 2 final. The game will be played on the 3g pitch in Kingspan Breffni. Please come along and give the girls your support.
