Cavan have confirmed that they will not be fielding a senior hurling team next season.

The Breffni County were unable to field a team in the 2011 championship and secretary Liam McCabe has admitted that they'll be focusing on underage development again in the coming season:

"The senior hurling team were not in a position to field teams in the Ulster championship and Lory Meagher tournaments.

"This was regrettable but plans are in place at underage level so in a few years we should be able to take our place at U21 and senior level." Tweet
