Super Bingo 2016

Our Super Bingo took place on Thursday in the Hotel Kilmore with €17,000 in prizes. It was another very successful event with a huge crowd there. Thanks to everybody who supported the event and a special thanks to all the club volunteers who helped out on the night. The winner of the €3,500 jackpot was Vicki Kenny from Ballinagh.

Gerard Reilly Memorial Tournament 2016

This year's tournament will take place on Saturday 3rd Sept at the Athletic Grounds from 10.00 AM to 12.30 PM. The tournament is for U10 players. Two of our own teams will be involved as well as teams from Denn, Cavan Gaels, Butlersbridge, Gowna, Crosserlough and Drung.

Croke Park bound!

Congratulations to Mark McDermott from Crubany NS who has qualified from the Cumann na mBunscol skills competition to play in Croke Park. His Croke Park appearance will be on the occasion of the All-Ireland semi-final next Sunday 21st August between Mayo and Tipperary. What an achievement and best of luck to him.

Club Men Adult Teams

Our Seniors were out of luck again this weekend, going down to Castlerahan in Crosskeys on Sunday. It was a gritty display in a high-scoring game. It was also a vast improvement on the previous week's display but it wasn't enough to take home the spoils. Next up is what is effectively a relegation play-off against Ballyhaise this coming weekend. The first Minor B Championship game was at home to Cavan Gaels last week. We lost, unfortunately, and our next fixture is against Laragh Utd.

Club Boys Juvenile Teams

The U16s had good championship wins away to Lavey and home to Maghera in the past week - they play Castlerahan away this week. We have two teams in the U14 championship. Our Div 1 team's next games are home to Bailieboro' and away to Dernacrieve Gaels. Our Div 4 team's next games are away to Shercock and home to Mountnugent. We also have two U12 teams. Our Group A team beat Munterconnaught last week and face Naomh Bríd at home this week. Our Group D team beat Butlersbridge last week and their next fixtures are home to Ballymachugh and away to Drumlane. Our U8/U10s took part in a blitz in Castlerahan last Saturday.

Club Ladies teams

The U14s had a comprehensive win against Gowna in a challenge game in preparation for the upcoming championship.

County Ladies Seniors

Well done to our lassies on the county senior squad who defeated Laois in Birr recently in the All-Ireland qualifiers. Caitríona Smith and Rachel Talbot started the game. Caitríona scored two points. Elaine Walsh and Courtney Rapple-McDowell are also on the squad. They now face Cork in the quarter-final next Saturday in Birr. Best of luck to them all.

Running Club

Join our running/jogging/walking club. Sessions are on both Tuesdays and Thursdays - 5.30-6.15PM, 6.30-7.15PM or 7.30-8.15PM. There is also a session on Saturday at 9.30AM. Old photos and memorabilia
