The draws for the 2025 provincial senior football championships have taken place this afternoon, throwing up some intriguing clashes for next year’s Sam Maguire Cup race.
All-Ireland champions Armagh have been drawn against Antrim in the Ulster SFC quarter-finals with the winners set to face either Tyrone or Cavan, while there is also a mouth-watering preliminary round in store between Donegal and Derry up north.
Out west All-Ireland final runners-up Galway will travel to New York for the opening round of the Connacht SFC and look to progress towards a semi-final date against either London or Roscommon.
Dublin open their Leinster SFC defence against either Wicklow or Longford at the eastern province’s quarter-final stage, with Kildare meeting Westmeath in the last eight and Robbie Brennan’s Meath set to play Carlow in the first round.
Meanwhile, holders Kerry are set to start their Munster championship campaign in a semi-final against either old rivals Cork or Limerick while Clare await Tipperary or Waterford in the last four.
