Mount Leinster Rangers landed a third Carlow senior hurling championship title in four years after an impressive display saw them past defending champions St Mullins.
It finished 3-19 to 1-17 at Netwatch Cullen Park, where the victors netted all of their goals in the first-half to take firm command by the halfway stage.
Dean Tobin, Chris Nolan and Fiachra Fitzpatrick raised the green flags for MLR that saw them taking in a 3-9 to 0-10 lead at the interval.
Jason O'Neill pulled back a goal for the holders but Donagh Murphy’s superb point got Rangers motoring again.
Despite Marty Kavanagh raising his tally to 0-9 for St Mullins by the finish, points down the home stretch via Ciaran Kavanagh, Tim Brennan and ‘Man of the Match’ Nolan (1-9) saw out a comfortable win for MLR as they recorded their 11th SHC success.
