After winning the Joe McDonagh Cup in dramatic fashion a few weeks ago, the focus in Carlow switches to the SHC which starts this evening.
Champions St Mullins face Ballinkillen in the opening game in Netwatch Cullen Park at 7.30pm. There are two more first round games on Friday evening which see Naomh Eoin and Mount Leinster Rangers face off at Netwatch Cullen Park and Bagenalstown Gaels and Naomh Bríd meet in Fenagh.
The IHC gets underway on Saturday when Naomh Eoin host Bagenalstown Gaels and Mount Leinster Rangers square up to St Mullins.
