Richie Hogan could be available to play some part for Kilkenny in Saturday's Leinster senior hurling championship semi-final against Dublin in Portlaoise.

It was thought that the 2014 Hurler of the Year had no chance of featuring against the capital men after sustaining a broken bone in his hand whilst on club duty for Danesfort against Ballyhale Shamrocks last month.

However, the Irish Examiner reports that Hogan has made a speedier recovery than expected and that his cast could be taken off in the next day or two with the hopes of playing some part at O'Moore Park.

Michael Fennelly is expected to line-out for the Cats after overcoming a recent hamstring injury, while Eoin Larkin and Conor Fogarty are also set to feature after respective long lay-offs.

Throw-in for the game on Saturday evening is at 7pm.
