Cody set for 14th season

Kilkenny manager Brian Cody celebrates with Tommy Walsh
Kilkenny County Board hope to name Brian Cody as Cats manager for 2012 at next month's meeting.

Cody was first appointed to take charge of the Black & Amber at the November 1998 County Board meeting and has gone on to become one of the greatest-ever intercounty managers. He is currently the longest-serving intercounty boss in the land.

Cats chiefs have been giving their inspirational manager a wide berth since the All-Ireland final win, reluctant to put any kind of pressure on the man as another season looms.

Obviously, they hope to maintain Cody's services and it seems almost certain that Cody will decide to stay on and defend the Liam MacCarthy Cup.

The next meeting of Kilkenny County Board is scheduled for November 14th and Cody's position will be made official then.
