Rory Kavanagh is expected to take charge of the Donegal minor footballers in 2027.

According to Donegal News, Kavanagh is set to succeed fellow 2012 All-Ireland SFC winner Karl Lacey in the role after being previously involved with county development squads. Kavanagh guided his beloved St Eunan's to the Dr Maguire Cup in 2021 before going on to manage Derry giants Glen last year.

He was heavily linked with the Donegal senior job before it went to Paddy Carr in 2020.

Kavanagh's imminent appointment comes after it was revealed that former All-Ireland SFC winners Martin McHugh and Frank McGlynn are set to join Donegal U20 manager Gary Boyle's ticket next season.
