Rathgormack made history by claiming a fourth consecutive Waterford senior football championship title by defeating The Nire on a 2-13 to 0-10 scoreline at Fraher Field.

Stephen Curry’s first-half goal capped a dominant opening period as Kenny Hassett’s side led 1-9 to 0-5 at the break, with Jason Curry and Francis Roche leading the scoring.

The Nire battled back after the restart, but Rathgormack held firm, with Roche and Jason Curry adding crucial scores to maintain their advantage.

Despite late chances for The Nire, Rathgormack sealed victory when Reece O’Mahony finished a swift counter-attack for a second goal in injury time.

The Deise County champions now turn their attention to Munster where they'll face Clare winners Éire Óg Ennis on November 8th.
