Kobe McDonald has been given permission by St Kilda to line out for Crossmolina in the Mayo SFC.
The Mayo All-Ireland winner’s St Kilda team-mates Eamonn Armstrong and Liam O’Connell have also been cleared to play for Duleek/Bellewstown (Meath) and Ballincollig (Cork), according to a report in the Irish Examiner. The clearance was given after St Kilda missed out on the AFL finals.
It means that McDonald – who is back on home soil just weeks after embarking on a professional career in the AFL – is set to feature in Crossmolina’s final Mayo SFC group match against Mayo Gaels this weekend.
The Deel Rovers opened their Moclair Cup campaign with a 1-26 to 0-22 win over Ballintubber before drawing 0-17 to 1-14 with Aghamore in Round 2 on the weekend before last.
