Galway senior football champions Moycullen have received a boost ahead of their third-round clash against Monivea-Abbey with the return of ace attacker Dessie Conneely.

Conneely, who finished top scorer in last year’s Galway SFC with 2-37, has completed his transfer from Penrith Gaels back to Moycullen after having spent the last few months in in Australia.

It’s a huge boost for the Frank Fox Cup holders as they get set to meet Monivea-Abbey tomorrow in Tuam (4.15pm), with Peter Cooke and Sean Kelly also having yet to feature in the first two outings of their title defence this summer.

Cathal Clancy’s team has also saw Owen Gallagher transferring back to them from St Joseph’s of Antrim this season while former Cavan and Leitrim goalkeeper Nevin O’Donnell has come into the club as well.

It was revealed last week that former Mayo manager James Horan is part of Clancy’s backroom team as the club bid for a fourth SFC title in seven years.
