Donal Óg Cusack was full of praise for Limerick after their dominant All-Ireland SHC final performance.

"All the greats were great today,” the former Cork goalkeeper gushed on RTÉ.

"Nickie Quaid didn't have a shot to save, but you look at the half-back line of Diarmaid Byrnes, Will O'Donoghue and Kyle Hayes. They were powering up when the game was in the melting pot, especially at the start of the third quarter.

"Adam English was outstanding at times. Cian Lynch is the one player who is able to bring that creativity with all the battling going on around him.

"I thought Cathal O'Neill was outstanding. Aaron Gillane was back to his best. Peter Casey is the best tackler we have ever seen in the game."

Cusack added: "I won't be taking any cheap shots in terms of the opposition, but Galway were beaten by better players, a better team, were beaten physically, and by some of the greatest players we have ever seen play the game."
