Tipperary will play Limerick in the All-Ireland minor hurling championship final on June 27th after both sides came through their respective semi-finals on Saturday.
After having conceded an early Bobby Power goal in their last four clash with Cork, Tipp responded by netting majors through Eanna Tucker and Chris Dunne to take control at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
A brace of points from Conall Morrisson and a Dunne free saw the Premier lads taking in a 2-8 to 1-9 lead at the break, but the Rebels would go in front again through Power’s second goal.
Josh Moroney found the net on 46 minutes for Tipp to get back within one and, from there, Dunne would go on to complete his hat-trick as the Munster champions powered into the Irish Press Cup decider with a 5-18 to 2-19 win in the end.
They’ll be joined by Limerick after the Treaty lads defeated Galway on a comprehensive 1-26 to 1-15 scoreline in Ennis this evening.
The Munster side were 0-2 to 0-1 in front when Xavier Neligan hammered in their goal in the seventh minute and four Shane Waters points would help to eventually move them towards a 1-12 to 0-9 half-time lead.
Waters and Michael Coen traded frees during the game’s third quarter, but the Treaty were able to keep a six-point cushion and increase it further down the home stretch prior to Gus Lohan grabbing a late consolation goal for the Tribesmen.
The result sees Limerick now into their first All-Ireland MHC final in a decade where they’ll face their neighbours from the Premier County in two weeks’ time.
