Tipperary captain Ronan Maher says he’s “A1” again as the Premier men get set to embark on their 2026 championship campaign this weekend.

Maher missed the majority of Tipp’s league trail after undergoing groin surgery towards the end of last year, with his return to action seeing him get in some vital minutes against Waterford and Kilkenny last month.

Liam Cahill’s side now face Cork this Sunday in Thurles (4pm) in a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland SHC final and, speaking to TippFM this week, Maher says that he’s put in a huge effort to get back.

“I was probably out longer than I had hoped but I got two good games in towards the end of the league, so I was really happy to get the game time in, and I’ve been getting plenty of training in.

“I’ve been looked after really well with our physios, doctors and the surgeon as well have been really good, and they’ve put me in the best hands possible.

“It was all successful, just probably a bit slower coming back than I thought but I’m A1 now, I’m all good and like I said, it was good to get the two games in.”
