Tipperary star Michael Breen says he hopes that his injury layoff this season can have a positive effect and see him fresh for the upcoming Munster senior hurling championship.
After having missed five weeks of the Allianz League due to a calf injury, the Ballina clubman returned for Tipp’s last two outings of the league against Waterford and Kilkenny as they secured a third-place finish in the Division 1A table.
Speaking to TippFM Sport this week, Breen says he’s hoping that the break will have turned out to be beneficial for him as the Premier men target back-to-back All-Ireland SHC titles this summer.
“There’s never a nice time to be injured but I suppose when you have to miss actual games and league games it is a little bit frustrating at the time,” said the three-time All-Ireland winner.
“You just have to take the positives and the way I was looking at it was that I can come back from this a little bit fresher as well and hopefully it might help myself individually just for this year as well.
“I haven’t really had a break in a league, I’ve always wanted to play every game and sure look, we will see, hopefully it will be positive.”
