Liam Rushe has made a sensational return to the Dublin hurling squad.
The Irish Independent is reporting that the 35-year-old has resumed training under Dublin boss Niall Ó Ceallacháin, who was also his manager when Na Fianna were crowned All-Ireland club champions last year. A two-time All-Star, Rushe last featured for the Dubs as a substitute against Westmeath in the 2022 Leinster SHC.
He was handed his Dublin debut by Anthony Daly as a teenager in 2009 and went on to win Allianz League and Leinster SHC medals in 2011 and ’13 respectively. His return is a timely boost ahead of Dublin’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1B final against Clare on Sunday week and Leinster SHC opener against Offaly on Saturday, April 18.
