Antrim made it back-to-back wins in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League by seeing off Wicklow (2-18 to 1-14) at Roger Casements this evening.

Pat Shivers and Ryan McQuillan struck first-half goals for the Glensmen who completed dominated the opening 25 minutes of this fifth-round encounter to lead by 2-6 to 0-0.

Eoin Darcy (free) got Wicklow off the mark in the 26th minute and he’d add another free after points from Kevin Quinn and Sean Murphy to leave it at 2-8 to 0-4 for the interval.

The home side sent over the first four scores of the restart to restore a 14-point advantage ahead of Padraig O’Toole grabbing a sorely needed goal for Wicklow in the 43rd minute.

Mark Doran’s men responded with four frees from ‘keeper John McNabb, including a two-pointer, as the Garden men, who suffered a blow to their promotion hopes here, sent over late long range efforts from Mark Jackson (free) and Chris O’Brien that only served to take tarnish off the final scoreline.
