Sligo and Longford maintained their 100% records in Division 4 of the Allianz Hurling League with respective victories this afternoon.
Sligo saw off Lancashire on a comprehensive 4-21 to 1-12 scoreline in Enniscrone where Robert O’Kelly-Lynch bagged them a goal in the opening minute.
Lancashire would get ahead through a Shane Nugent goal in the 15th minute, but the Yeats men regained control with Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch’s goal proving the difference at half-time (2-8 to 1-8) and more majors via Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch and Eddie O’Donoghue after the change of ends would secure their third win on the bounce.
Longford also recorded their third victory in as many games by seeing off Monaghan (1-23 to 0-12) in Cloghan.
Ace attacker Reuben Murray helped the Midlanders to build up a 0-12 to 0-3 lead by half-time and Joe Rabbit’s goal would put a dozen ahead a minute into the restart.
Niall Arthur’s frees looked to take some tarnish off the scoreline for the hosts who ultimately fell to their second defeat of the league campaign here.
