Kerry remain unbeaten in Division 2 of the Allianz Hurling League after three rounds thanks to a 5-21 to 1-21 victory against London at Austin Stack Park this afternoon.

Daniel Casey and Oisin Maunsell struck goals inside the opening 25 minutes in Tralee for the hosts before Michael Slattery and Jordan Brick bagged more majors in the run up to half-time.

Brick’s goal made it 4-11 to 0-8 when the sides went in at the break, with London following up a couple of Fionn O Rain Broin points with a Sean Glynn goal in the third quarter before Ronan Walsh’s green flag put a seal on the victory for the Kingdom.

In Celtic Park, Derry got up and running in Division 2 with a 2-25 to 0-20 win against Mayo.

The sides had been all square on 0-9 apiece when Shea Cassidy slammed in the Oak Leafers’ first goal on 26 minutes and the same player would repeat the trick seven minutes later to give the home side control.

The scoreboard read 2-12 to 0-11 at half-time and Derry would extend their lead early in the restart before Shane Boland pulled back a couple of scores for the Westerners.

The frees of Cormac Phillips down the home stretch kept Mayo in the hunt ahead of four unanswered scores sent over at the other end by Patrick Turner, Darragh McMullen, Deaghlan Foley and Fintan Bradley settling the issue for the hosts.
