Kilkenny manager Derek Lyng says his side are looking forward to “a huge test” against Limerick this weekend in the third round of the Allianz Hurling League.
The Leinster champions’ sole outing in Division 1A thus far saw them defeating Offaly by four points last Sunday week and Lyng has welcomed back trio Fionan Mackessy, Tom Phelan and Padraic Moylan to training since then.
Limerick’s first clash in the league saw them losing out to Waterford last weekend and Lyng knows that his side will have to be at their best against the Shannonsiders at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Sunday (throw-in 3.45pm).
“Anytime you go down to play Limerick, it’s obviously going to be a huge test of whatever team you put out and the squad as well,” the Cats boss is quoted saying by kclr96fm.com.
“But we’re really looking forward to all those games this year. That’s how you test yourself, that’s how you get better, that’s how you improve — playing those games and being tested.
“Each team brings something different to the table and they’ll be no different.”
