Kilbrittain (Cork) landed the Munster club junior hurling championship title by brushing aside Kilrossanty (Waterford) with a 2-17 to 0-9 victory in Mallow this afternoon.
The west Cork side dominated the first-half to lead by 0-11 to 0-3 when the sides went in at the break, with Mark Hickey’s frees and points from Sean Sexton, Josh O’Donovan Bernie Butler serving to cushion their advantage of their Desue counterparts.
Kilrossanty sent over the first four points of the restart to bring themselves right back in contention for the provincial title.
However, a Luke Griffin point steadied Kilbrittain and goals from Hickey and Butler would follow to seal the trophy against their opponents who finished with 13 men.
Joe Ryan’s men now get set to face the Leinster club JHC winners in the All-Ireland semi-finals.
