There was no separating Courtwood and holders Portarlington in today’s Laois senior football championship final as it finished 2-12 to 1-15 at Laois Hire O’Moore Park.
Jake Foster’s goal had helped Portarlington to hold a 1-7 to 1-4 lead at half-time and they’d go up by four in the second-half before Courtwood got ahead with an Alan Kinsella goal in the 56th minute.

Paddy O’Sullivan and Rioghan Murphy landed points that put the champions back ahead prior to Dylan Keane’s free in injury-time saving Courtwood another date.
The replay in the O’Moore County has since been confirmed for two weeks from today, October 26th at the same Portlaoise venue (2pm).
Meanwhile, the Sligo senior football championship is also set for a replay after Coolera-Strandhill were held by Shamrock Gaels.
The 3-13 to 2-16 result in Quigabar saw David Quinn’s two-pointer free in the ninth minute of injury-time rescuing a draw for the Gaels, with Sligo county board set to confirm a date for the replay on Monday.
