Holders Ballina Stephenites will face Westport in the Mayo senior football championship final next Sunday, October 19th after both sides came through their respective semi-finals this afternoon.
Bidding for their third Paddy Moclair Cup in-a-row, Ballina recorded a 1-12 to 0-8 win against Knockmore in Hastings MacHale Park to book their final return.
Evan Regan, Niall Feeney and Conor McStay shot scores in the first-half that saw Ballina take in a 0-6 to 0-2 lead at the break and they’d be well on their way back to the final once Luke Doherty smashed in the game’s only goal early in the second-half.

In a game which saw 19 different scorers over the 80 minutes, it was the scores of Paddy O’Malley (two-pointer), Kevin Keane (2), Tom Lambert and Pat Lambert that saw Pat Holmes’s men over the line in the end.
Killian Kilkelly struck 1-6 for Westport while teenage Kobe McDonald weighed in with 0-9 for Crossmolina who had led by 1-14 to 1-13 in second-half injury-time before Kilkelly sent the game to extra time for 2022 champions.
