Ratoath were in impressive form as they saw off Skryne by 0-22 to 0-11 at Pairc Tailteann this afternoon to progress back into the Meath senior football championship final.
Paul Galvin’s side pulled away from their opponents in the closing quarter of an hour in this semi-final after the scores of Daithi McGowan, Bryan MacMahon and Jack Flynn (two-pointer) saw them leading by 0-6 to 0-2 at half-time in Navan.
Flynn added another two-pointer within 15 seconds of the resumption and, while a hat-trick of Niall Finnerty points looked to stop the rot for Skryne, the 2022 champions were back motoring again thanks to scores from McGowan and MacMahon.
Finnerty would help Skryne get to back within two points and Billy Smyth’s effort made it one-point game in the 42nd minute.
However, Galvin’s charges would pull clear again as Flynn’s two-point free was backed up by a McGowan effort from beyond the arc and a brace of points each from Cian Rogers and McGowan would put a seal on what was an 11-point victory in the end.
Ratoath now await the winners of tomorrow’s other semi-final clash in the Royal County between holders Dunshaughlin and Summerhill at Pairc Tailteann (4pm) to see who they face in next month’s Keegan Cup decider.
