Dicksboro are through to the last four of the Kilkenny senior hurling championship thanks to a 2-24 to 2-18 win against Glenmore at Nowlan Park this afternoon.
Shane Stapleton’s goal surged the victors’ 1-4 to 1-2 in front in the 10th minute and they went on to net again some 13 minutes later via Liam Moore and hold a 2-9 to 1-8 advantage at the half.
Glenmore got a goal back midway through the second-half and would be back within a point with 10 minutes remaining, but the 'Boro were able to see out the win by six points in the end.
They join Mullinavat in the last four of the Tom Walsh Cup race following the latter’s 2-22 to 3-16 victory over Bennettsbridge at the same venue.
Tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) sees a heavyweight clash between holders Thomastown and Ballyhale (2pm), which will be shown live on TG4 from Nowlan Park, before O’Loughlin Gaels and Clara meet (4pm) to determine which two teams will be joining today’s winners in the semi-finals.
