Donegal GAA has agreed a new deal which is set to see up to 50 games being streamed live during the upcoming club championships.

The deal, which is said to be worth up to €250,000 over the next three years to the county board, is with Limerick-based company Streamsport which already provides livestreaming of club championships in Clare, Galway, Limerick and Mayo.

The livestreaming in Donegal is set to start this weekend, with the 2025 county senior championship getting underway tomorrow in the Tir Chonaill County when Killybegs play Termon at 5pm.

Speaking to DonegalLive.ie, county board treasurer Grace Boyle described the three-year contract as “a good deal for the county”.

“There will be packages available for weekend and season packages as well as single games,” the treasurer stated.

“Every club in the county will get a season pass and after each game both clubs will get a copy of the game,” said Boyle, who added that the packages may not be fully available until after this weekend.

“It was only yesterday morning (Tuesday) that we signed off on it, so the pricing is just being finalised. There will be a package for this weekend to get it up and running and after that all the packages will be available.

“The single matches will be available at a price which will never be less than the admission price. We have to protect everybody, especially the clubs.

“We could see last year that 30% of our online customers were from overseas, so that is what we are facilitating. We are not trying to affect any club’s gates. We have people all over the country and all over the world watching,” said Boyle.

“We are very happy with the deal and it’s protecting us for three years as well.”
