New York edged London by 0-20 to 2-13 at Croke Park this afternoon to claim their third consecutive All-Ireland junior football championship title.

Substitute Emmet Loughran struck what proved to be the winning point after London had come from five points down early in the second-half to level up the decider.

Led by talisman Brian Coughlan, who finished with a tally of 0-9, New York held a 0-12 to 1-7 advantage at the halfway stage despite Ali Carney rattling their net inside the opening five minutes at headquarters.

Mick Healy's men extended their advantage after the change of ends with a Gearoid Kennedy two-pointer, but their fellow Exiles would respond through a Conor Redican goal and a Noel Maher two-pointer to level matters eight minutes into the resumption.

New York moved two ahead again and London levelled thanks to another from beyond the arc by Caolan Doyle, prior to Lorcan Kennedy and Loughran shooting over the points which ensured the holders retained their crown for a second year running.
